Learn how to get started with LinkLight and how it works.
Go to the Chrome Web Store and click “Add to Chrome”.
LinkLight needs no additional activation! Start highlighting the web, and for accessing your notes and highlights, click the extension icon to open the popup.
There are multiple ways to start highlighting and saving notes:
- Context Menu: After selecting text on a web page, right-click on the text. In the context menu that appears, you should see an option labeled "Save to LinkLight". Select this to highlight and save the text.
- Keyboard Shortcut: After selecting text on a web page, press the default shortcut keys on your keyboard [CTRL+SHIFT+S]. Afer pressing these keys at once, the text will be highlighted and saved. This keyboard shortcut can be changed by going to chrome://extensions/ and the "Keyboard shortcuts" menu.
- Inline Popup: When this is enabled, highlighting any text on a web page will cause a small popup to appear near the highlighted text. The popup will contain your favorite color swatches where you can simply click the color you want applied. Highlight -> Click -> Done!
If something isn't working, start by refreshing the page. There
are some websites that have odd formatting where the highlight
might not be able to reappear. The text should still save.
Reinstalling the extension will cause your notes to be deleted. If
you would like to save your notes, use the "Download All Notes"
button found on the Settings tab of the extension.
